Hi all. I've been along time member but haven't posted a lot but I need some advise.

I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop and currently have now 1 year old Packard Bell EasyNote TJ75:

CPU: Intel Core i5 430M
Screen: 15,6" 16:9 HD LED LCD
Graphics: ATI Mobile Radeon HD5470 512 MB
RAM: 2x2 GB PC3-8500F (533 MHz) (I got this information from Piriform Speccy)
Sound: Build in Realtek sound
HDD: 640 GB

I'm thinking of buying a ASUS K53SV for £655 here in Denmark, where I currently live:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2410M
Screen: 15.6" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED backlit
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 540M 1024 MB
RAM: 1x4 GB + 1x2 GB (6 GB) DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz
Sound: Altec Lansing speakers, not sure about the card its self but it doesn't matter so much, I have ASUS USB card
HDD: 640 GB

The reason I'm thinking of my upgrade is because my sister needs a laptop for school in the fall
and I saw an opportunity to upgrade to a little bit faster machine to use for next 2 years and sell
her my old for fair amount. :D

I know the ASUS machine is not a lot faster but I think good enough for me.
The main goal is using it for school (IT Support), watching videos and music. I don't do much of gaming any
more and highest graphics aren't the main goal but I sometimes play Starcraft 1&2, Mass Effect 1&2,
Max Payne, Half Life, C&C series and I will be buying Duke Nukem Forever and Mass Effect 3 when the come out.

So my questions is how much faster and better build the ASUS machine is and is it worth it or total waist of money?

And if you can suggest other laptops with same specs for lower price or better for same/similar price,
by all means do. I think I know little bit here and there about laptops but I'm no expert.

My budget can be stretch up to £750 but bare in mind I'm located in Denmark and will buying here
but you can suggest any laptop and I will check what I can get here.

Thanks

I've been going over my finans a little bit and I can spend little more and go over the £750.
I found two other ASUS laptops witch are more expensive, £800 and £950 converted from DKK,
I like the £800 one but if it's worth upgrading to the £950 one and will last more than those 2 years,
maybe 3 or 4 years, I'll spring for that one. Or maybe the £800 one is enough.

The £800 one
CPU: Intel Core i5 2410M / 2.3 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz
HDD: 640 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 5400 rpm
Screen: 15.6" TFT Full HD (1920x1080)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM

And the £950 one:
CPU: Intel Core i7 2630QM
RAM: 8 GB (2x4 GB) DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz
HDD: 640 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 5400 rpm
Screen: 15.6" TFT Full HD (1920x1080)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM
and it got a bluray drive

One other reason I want to upgrade is I find the 1366x768 resolution a bit small for me and would
like the 1920x1080 one more.

I've been looking little bit on Dell because I owned a Dell Inspiron 8600 from 2005 until 2010 but it's
just crazy how much the want to charge for there machines compared with other brands.

So please tell me what you think.
