Deciding on Wireless router.

Ok guys i need some suggestions on what router to get... going to set up a network at home upstairs next to my desktop pc in my room, im going to have a laptop as 2nd gaming computer (which my bro will use) and presumeably be playing downstairs.

I'm wondering what router will offer good performance? does the router you get even matter? im assuming you can get faster/slower routers i dont want to buy one which is lagging during games or anything so please could anyone suggest me one to get?

p.s sorry about stupidity of this post i really have NO clue about wirless routers at all haha or wireless networking in general.

You haven't said what you're going to connect it to, or what network card the laptop iwll have...

Erm ADSL connection gonna connect to my desktop, and laptop doesnt have a card slot so im assuming a USB 2.0 wireless reciever? which would come with a router correct? and i may need 2nd one for my desktop ofc.

Unless it's a bundle, it won't come with adapters. The laptop should have a wireless card inside it though, and there's no point buying a router that doesn't do what it does.
