Okay so I've been use Windows Home Premium for awhile now but I got Windows 7 Ultimate as a present from a relative so I tried to install it but it's saying that my hard drive has corrupt files.
Now lately my computer has been messing up, when trying to boot it takes about 20 attempts, fans start up then it restarts.
So I was thinking perhaps buy a SSD install Windows 7 Ultimate to it and a few programs then use the 1tb HD for storage?

Perhaps this ssd:

That would be an ok SSD if its just for the OS and a few select programs.

Out of curiosity though, were you formatting the harddrive first or just trying to install over the top?

Well I bought it all from a local computer store that are normally pretty good. If I still have the receipt it should install be in warranty. Only bought it all 2 months ago.
Seems that the disc is all messed up though, it's got a bunch of scratches. I've had it awhile and when I installed it originally it crashed a few times just installing.
Yeh just over the top. Do I need to format it?
If so I might not be able to because it won't boot long enough.
