480, more memory, overclocks great and the amp runs cool and quiet, do you really want to go down the dual GPU root where in a worst case scenario you could be seeing just a single 460 speeds in games that do not scale well, or micro stutter and other driver issues that can accompany a dual card setup. Fast single card F-T-W

GTX480 because it's well enough to play games even at 2560x1600 res and due to the reasons already mentioned plus if you did somehow want a 2nd you can just add another when they go down in price though it will not be needed.

1920x1200 is my gaming res

If got 4890 in CF but one off the cards was going 110c whilst other stayed at 75c and started to throttle back my fps,so im 3quarters sold on the 480 just need that last quarter swing as im not sure how cool the 460's run at in sli side by side.

I can tell you now that games like crysis and its sequel will go over the 1GB frame buffer with AA and max IQ and more so at your rez, so if any any future titles are Vram intensive you're going to have to play at lower setting as to avoid a lag fest with 1GB 460's.

I'm biased towards cards with hd audio support over hdmi atm so would wait for a 485 lol :)
The 460's can do this but i have not read enough reviews to see what sort of min fps they can churn out compared to the 480.

If yuo want best price, why not go for one of the lower-cost 480's like THIS or THIS. Exactly the same clocks on all three, only difference is the cooler. (Also the OcUK version comes with free games ^_^)
