Going to cut straight to the chase here, looking to upgrade very very soon. Now I have two choices.

1. Buy now and avoid the vat increase which is coming after christmas.

2. Hold out till after christmas and hope products are reduced in price.

The money simply is not an issue as I have been saving for a very long time. Spending around £700, I5 system. Any thoughts on this what would you suggest? :) Thanks

Has been talked about a few times already, and there's always mixed responses, in truth.. no one really knows what the prices are gonna be like or if it will be worth waiting or not, depends on how close after christmas you'd be buying as i'm sure you know hardware always falls in price when the next big thing is around the corner.

Sorry for the post, to be honest I do remember reading something similar not so long back ; in my excitement ( and the time ^^ ) it slipped my mind
. I agree with the next big thing, however the market is allways moving so in the end you just have to punt :)

well the only new things that are currently coming for PC stuff that i know of is AMDs Hex-core CPUs (6 cores) and Nvidias Fermi core, which tbh even with these coming out id make a start on the rig and geta temp GC then gain a bit more money to splash on a new card after the nvidia gpus are released.
