Right some of you may be aware that i am getting annoyed with AMD! i have two 7950's that run quite hot, they no longer cut out though wooo!
Now i am thinking of replacing them with one card and selling them. What do i need to get to get something better than them? Im air cooled so just running stock

If you can get £300 for the pair or close to it then you might get within swiping distance of a 290X or OC'd 780.

thats the idea if i can sell them for 150 each i'll be on my way to something new! Lovely cards individually but my case is cramped and the driver issue is beyond a joke for me now.

maybe start by getting a decent case, the shinobi bitfenix is really bad in thermal tests, no wonder your GPUs are hot...and you have crossfire lol.
here is some comments from a review on thermal testing
"Unfortunately for the Shinobi, the results we garnered from our thermal testing weren’t great. With just a single 120mm exhaust fan, the case produced a peak CPU delta T of 60o; a poor result that's much hotter than those from other cheap cases such as the Antec One Hundred and the Xigmatek Utgard.

GPU cooling was disappointing as well, with the GPU hitting a Delta T of a whopping 49oC. This is the worst GPU cooling result we’ve yet seen with our current test kit, which means that the Shinobi sits last on our GPU test graph"

it's a miracle that your cards are still working

im gettin 84 degrees on watch dogs on ultra as well got my fans going some mind you but i play with a headset on. I wouldnt mind a new case i was thinking of goign ITX or something but i may just stay big but something nicer.

I have a hole in the side of the case now and two exahusts there one at the top and one at the back as well its all taking the air out and two on the front pumping the cold air in.

im not fan of closed intake front pannel, most of the time it limits greatly the air pumped in.
i have corsair 540air, loving the case, 3 intake front, 2 exhaust top and 1 back, PSU isolated from the mobo, and looks great

The 540 is a great case, my mate's just bought one and I'm very impressed with it, love the looks with some decent fans. I'm not sure the cooling's quite as good as my Silverstone FT02 though :p

What's the cooling like, especially for the GPU? And noise levels? :)

I have no complaints whatsoever. The cooling is way, way more than adequate, and as far as I'm concerned the noise levels are fine. I will say, however, that if someone was after a very quiet running case, then this might not be the one for them. I certainly wouldn't say it's loud at all, but then I'm not overly sensitive to noise. My graphics card (not having been cleaned thoroughly for a while) usually idles around the middle to high twenties, and maybe reaches thirty degrees at the very most.

I have a fan controller installed and I added some extra fans and slowed them all down so the noise level is quite low and only really picks up when gaming and even then its the GPU fans that speed up and once they do you cant hear the case fans at all ...

Plus lots of room for a dual GPU setup and or water cooling if you go that way...

why run a cpu water cooler but not graphics cards? my cooler for my CPU is quiet and barely gets to 50.

Its a good question .... I just don't have the answer :) ... it came this way and I did look into water cooling the GPU's but they are not the AMD Ref build cards so it was hard at the time to find something I liked so I gave up ...

Was the case used or it came with the water cooling as standard? sorry for the questions. Its a little ugly from the front.
