I'd really like to go Dual Core, but there's two ways I could go...

1. Sell my whole setup (MB, RAM, CPU) and go Conroe, which up till now I wanted to do.

or

2. Keep my MB/RAM and get a AMD Dual Core.

I currently run a San Diego 3700 on a DFI Ultra-D, with 1Gb GSkill 4800. This setup is good for 2.8GHz on air, but I'd really like to get a more productive system with a Dual Core.

I could get an X2 3800 for £108
or a 4400 for £170

For a cheap Dual Core entry, the £108 option looks nice.

If I go for option 2, i'm liable to wait until January and get a whole new Conroe system...

But, If I went option 1, it would only cost me about £200 to get a 3.0GHz+ System on Conroe.

If I waited for option 2, i've got the option of getting matured motherboards, but do I risk getting a Conroe that wont clock?

Err Hello BTW :D

Hello and welcome to the forum...

I would say sell all and get a Conroe

Stelly

Now? or wait for it to mature a bit?

I've secured a preorder on a E6600 from another retailer for £219.99, so just waiting for that at the moment.

After that it's just a case of deciding on a motherboard and some (compatible) RAM.

I think Conroe is the way to go.

By the time I get the CPU (next week), payday is the week after, I should be able to get me a kickass setup behind a 6600
