Hey there

Ok so I have got my new motherboard today, and I realised last night that the current stock mobo in my system is a standard ATX one, yet the one I bought was a Micro-ATX board, but I have been told that a Micro-ATX should still fit into any PC case (I am just using the stock HP Pavilion case as it's not really too old and I can't really afford a new case atm).

So my question/decision is, do I send the motherboard I ordered back and get a standard ATX one or do I unpack this one and try to install it in my current case, then if it doesn't fit I'm gonna have to try and buy a new case sometime... what do you think?

Aren't they designed to have (mostly) the same mounting holes in as an ATX?

Google will easily tell you if it will work.

you should find the three standoffs at the rear of the case should be fine you may have to move a couple of the other standoffs

What happens if I can't move some of the standoff's?

Well, not necessarily, as long as it will fit my case it should be ok.
