Ok, so what should I do with the current wheels on my car?

I currently have Michelins all round, and the front ones are rapidly approaching the naughty side of "well worn", and the backs aren't great either.

I have 2 options:

1. Keep my current alloys, get 4 new tyres in the 185/65/R14 size (for my 1.6 alloys)

2. Get hold of a set of the 15" alloys from a 1.9 205 GTi, and get a new set of rubber for them?

Car is a 205GTi by the way :)

3. Buy some 15" GTi wheels with good rubber already on them :)

Well, I've put a wanted thread on the 205 GTiDrivers forum for some 15" alloys, but no reply yet :(

I don't mind paying £150 or so for a good set with good tyres on.

The 1.9GTi alloys suit the 205 very well

They are quite expensive for a set these days though aren't they?

A mint set of alloys would set you back nearly £200.

when i had a 205GTi i managed to get hold of some 306 XSi wheels for it for a bargain price...

going back a bit now mind, but they looked the part i thought:

Blimey.. is that all they go for?

A friend of mine recently sold an entire 205 1.4XS modded to look like a 1.9GTI with the alloys and right trim bits and seats etc for around £350. Was all we could get for it.

So i guess the alloys alone cant be worth much, maybe we should have broken the car for parts.

Remembering that the 205 / 309GTi themselves barely sell for more than £500 for a semi-good condition one these days!

309 maybe, but the 205 is still quite pricey, even for a knacker :(

I know who bought that, It was for his girlfriend iirc..

Mark - I've already emailed the seller, asking what tyres are on them etc ;)

Gosport isn't too far from me either, so its easy to pop down and pick them up :)

Try finding a 309 too! Not many left and what's there is finally being appreciated as

A) The better car
B) A good source of 205 spares
