Right then guys what do you think to this

Basicly brought a 360 last year from a high street retailer, took the extra warranty from them too as the 360 would be used by a 6 year old and i didn't want to claim minor problems on my house hold insurance, now my 360 has had a problem with startup issues since i brought it and being the lasy bugger i'am i finally took it back yesturday.
Good old high street retailer said instantly because of the insurance i was entitled for a straight swap no questions asked, but if i wanted to could add extra cash and swap it instead for a PS3  being the head of my house hold you know the dominate male opted agaist it for fear of my privates being cut off by the missus like.

So i get the 360 home and start up issues not as bad but still there so what should i do it'll be my 3rd 360, i like the 360 but can't keep having these slight problems what would you do?

I like the 360 for these reasons

XboxLive arcade
Upscaling DVD player
Good games

Can you explain what the issue is? No offence but if a replacement console's doing the same thing then maybe its something you're doing?

If the new console really is broken then take that back as well!

Why do people even type stuff like that in? ah i see the reason why it doesn't turn on is because i havent pressed the power on button :o silly me

old 360
turn the 360 on green lights but no output to the tv, 3rd time of turning it on and off get E74 error message it then would take another 2 restarts before fully turning itself on

newer 360
turn it on no output restart and turn it on again and output to the tv, although the original 360 started the same way

some say its a dodgy tv cable, or even my tv or the power surply all i know is ive tested it on a standard crt and hdtv, i have now used 2 component cables and 2 vga cable(official and madcats version) all still have the same problems, ive even heard rumors of putting my power surply in a jumper to heat the thing up, to eliminate cold starts which is a joke

Very odd to have 2 units give identical problems...
Take it to the shop and ask them to test it infront of you.

Take it with all cables, power supply and so on.

My 360 only tends to output to TV (Scart) or LCD (VGA) on the third attempt of starting it up. First and second I usually get a blank screen, then the third it works. Sometimes it comes up with system error, then works after being turned off and on again.

Maybe I should take mine back! I though it was something to do with switching inputs around or something..

Read before you post mate :D

I was thinking of saying that but I thought he couldn't be that stupid to not suspect if it could be a TV problem.

Back to OP first post, you can keep swaping the 360 until you get the black 360 or if I were you, I would have got the PS3.
