I'm looking for a CPU for my new build, my choices are the following.

Q6600 - Seems to be quite the popular choice good oc etc
Q8500 - A good alternative to the above, my system will be more for gaming
Q9450 - Looks good on paper but would like some comments on it's viability.

In a few days you can have a Q9550 for the price of a Q9450. Intel slashed the prices, it just hasnt made it to UK retail yet. Might be enough to "sway" you towards the 9 series chip. Higher multi on 9 series chips is a good thing, as most 45nm quads have a fairly low FSB wall.
 
Although I've just read they're actually discontinuing the Q9450, what would be the best alternative to this?
