Ok so my water loop is coming up for a refresh, i.e. needs a liquid change and a possible de-gunking as the Flow spinner on the res is spinning rather slow.

The stuff I’m looking at replacing is the radiator and reservoir along with some new tubing and all the other sundries.

Or…

Do I forgo the annoyance and sometimes frustrating build of a water loop and just sell out and go for a Corsair H100.

Here is my Current system….

Intel i7 920 OC’d to 4GHz
6GB Patriot RAM
2 x HD6870
Asus P6X5D8D-E
Coolermaster Modular 850W PSU
Coolermaster ATCS 840 (powder coated red internals)

Convince me one way or the other! lol

Is my work worthy to continue building another loop, or should I hang up the hose cutter and get the H100?

H100's are rubbish

any particular reason you are looking at replacing the rad? the one you have is much better than a H100... I would just replace the tubing and clean everything else

The rad is a 5 year old GT stealth, and the Res has cracks in the perspex around the screws (from me being a bit too friendly with the screw driver on the last build).

Like I said the Flow indicator at times almost stops moving :s

so H100 is a bit rubbish? any reason why?

I'm not sure why it's rubbish, but in tests it performs no better than a good aircooler and/or is considerably noisier

I would try to resurrect the rad rather than just bin it as a matter of course

what are your temps like? that low an amount of flow should mean temps rocket - unless the flow indicator is just worn out and sticking rather than it really being that low of a flow

I will check tonight and report back, but not dangerously high.

Whats a good way to clean out components? Using Liquid with a red dye has prob taken its toll..
