Hello All,

My decking is several years old, and looking very 'weathered'. It is at a strange angle as it was built to cover over a pond

Any recommendations for some 2D CAD software to figure out how many bits of decking I might need, and the angles to cut etc?

Might be an option to re do the whole area and make it bigger? Is the timber sound and just looks weathered? You could try pressure washing it :D

Sadly that's an old photo. Here is an up to date one:

A couple of the strips are starting to warp, and several have signs of starting to rot a little, sadly. I have my suspicions that the condition of the frame isn't great either. Realistically, I'd probably want to get a tradesman in to quote, but seeing as I have a bit of time on my hands at the moment I thought I'd put a rough idea of cost together

You could unscrew a few boards to see what the frames condition is like? You might get away with buying replacement decking boards and cutting them yourselves, would be a lot cheaper :D What is the length of the board on the long run by the grass?

P.S lovely looking grass :)

If you are going for a standard shape. Rectangle / square then a lot of suppliers have a calculator on the website which will list all components needed.

Unfortunately it's some kind of 'arrowhead' shape; it starts off square enough, but then the concrete edges of the old pond close in

Surely just go and measure what's already there?
Add on any extra bits you want to deck as well plus a bit extra.

Shouldn't need to cad it out really, making life hard work.
