I need to purchase a display this week for nephew. It's for xbox 360 / ps3 gaming in his bedroom and the odd blu ray / hd download.
Was considering the Dell S2740L, for it's decent input lag, lots of inputs, and of course it's an IPS panel so good motion resolution and good viewing angles. He definitely does not want a TN panel as he finds the current one he has awful for watching movies. And 120hz panel is a waste for 360 and PS3.
Altneratively for less money I could get him a Samsung 32EH5000 LED. Same res, 1920x1080, but bigger (32"), and a PVA panel so better blacks then IPS. Also low input lag for TV. Also supports 24hz for blu ray. However, there is a panel lottery with this set, as some of them have a crap sharp panel prone to ghosting. And of course a bigger dot pixel pitch compared to the Dell so wouldn't be great for PC, although it does support 4:4:4.
What you reckon ?
thanks
