Firstly my site gets 5000 unique visitors a month although judging by my stats this should hit 10,000 unique visitors by next month. So im thinking of moving to a dedicated server as this site is my business and i feel it will be better suited / safer etc on the dedicated server.

anyway heres the specs :

DualCore Xeon 3040
1GB Ram
2 x 160GB hdd
Cpanel / WHM control panel.

And then theres the choice of 4000GB / month or for £10 extra a dedicated 10mb line with unmetered traffic. Which one would you say is the best baring in mind i use only around 4GB / month traffic. although im thinking of setting up a mini hosting site and re-selling the remaining space etc to recoup abit of the money back. What do you think?

EDIT - I would only allow 5 other sites on my server... would you think 1GB would be enough?

It's a good idea - although if you have zero linux experience and no experience in managing a server with regards to security etc it might be dangerous considering you'll be putting your business on there.

Again - I think if you're going to get a dedicated server so that your website is more reliable and doesn't have the pitfalls of shared hosting, it doesn't really make sense to then sell any spare space on the server to recoup the costs but end up sharing the server with other people.

I would go with the 100mbit/4000 GB option. :)

Hmm I can understand the safety of a dedicated server. But 5,000-10,000 uniques / month is what one of my site does per month too. It's running fine on shared hosting.

However, if it's your business then you need more support than a shared.
