Got to see them last night in Manchester, really enjoyed it, Thin Lizzy and Styx were support.

Lizzy seemed like they were just trying a bit too hard and were a bit pap tbh.

Styx were good, some awesome keyboard in there and a good overall performance.

Purple were good too, bass was a little disappointing, not as much input as was expecting compared to the others, fantastic vocals and keyboard. Plus a great guitar solo part way in.

I thought it was awesome overall, the girlfriend didnt enjoy it so much, think she only knew 4 songs or so in total :(

Need someone to come with me to see Rush now, havnt got my tickets yet, not sure if she would apprechiate it the same!

No Lord or Blackmore
No Lynott, Robertson, Bell, Moore or Downey
No Denis De Young or Panozzo

How much did it cost to go and see 3 tribute bands :D

:p I didnt pay was a present, in the region of £35 though!

Chucky Panozzo made a guest appearance with Styx and did a few songs with them actually.

I know it wouldnt be near the original line ups, but since im not an old grumpy git and dont have a time machine its the best im going to get and i damn well enjoyed it! :)

i worked it and was very pleasantly suprised to see thin lizzy and styx supporting, they were both just what i wanted, didnt think too much of deep purple but tbh had barely heard any of their stuff before
