2 x times your ram total is default, which sounds like overkill !!

I have heard it said that a static pagefile is more efficient when you have 2GB, starting with 300MB and increasing it if your setup needs more ontill it 's stable, this vs a dynamic pagefile which will use up cpu cycles adjusting itself.

This is something I spent a lot of time trying different sizes for benchmarking and in almost every case XP managed it very close to the best I could make it, but that was for each benchmark, overall XP does a fantastic job of running it.

The only way I found to make it marginally better was to use it on another hard drive, but again it's 1-2% better at best.
