I ran Prime95 all night yesterday and it came back fine, with maxtemps of 66c (but most of the time it stayed at around 60-62c at most)...

however when playing games my screen goes a random solid colour and the pc is still on and can only be turned off physically.

Many say this could be either a memory , gfx card, or a PSU issue.... using the rig in my sig.

have had quite a few problems with this gpu that am still attempting to fix (reluctant to RMA with OcUK because im trying to isolate gpu as problem)

At crashing point GPU is at 80c and CPU is at 50c.. I think as some have suggested, the VRAM might be overheating... or the gpu is just dead. Games run for a few minutes then crash and die quickly.

PC gets warm as the metal parts on the left side and inside the case it is warm (but not hot).... thats about it.

temps arnt too bad

usually pc memory and or gpu memory if its locking up in games, what memeory are you using? and be sure to run latest motherboard bios

I doubt its gpu,its more likely needing more memory controller voltage with 16gb

but I have no idea what its called on haswell,

Are you sure... it only happens with furmark and not prime 95..

will test with memtest over night (if i can figure it out to run on USB) and am going to remove a slot and rerun the furmark.

edit.. reinstalled drivers, problem still there, removed 1 memory still there (wont remove second as it means removing my massive K2 cooler), will report back tommorow with memtest
