Defective Radiator? (rattling noise inside)

Hi,

My new radiator arrived yesterday. (First time watercooling) and I'm not sure if this is normal..

Well my Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 has a rattling metal noise when shaken or tilted... I'm pretty sure this isn't normal. Sounds a little like glass.

I have attempted to flush it out using hot water to no avail. Searching the internet a review of the radiator mentions this issue but not much more.

This was purchased through *another company*, not Overclockers...

So is this normal? Should I send it back to *another company*?

Thanks.,

rattling within the radiator pipes or the rattling of the fins on the frame?

Tbh it sounds like a combination of both, the fins are attached to the pipes, if a pipe is loose the fins rattling off the radiator cage would make a noise.

I'd send it back if in doubt.

Edit: Just given an RX120 and XTX360 a shake and both are completely solid, no noise.

Thanks a lot, I'd rather be 100% safe.

I know what the rattling is. I have a phobya g changer which has this same 'issue' :)

Both these radiators are the same, just rebranded. They have a fan protector metal layer between the screw holes and the fins to stop you from damaging the rad incase you screw in too far. It's not fixed though so it rattles when you shake it. Look below the screw holes.

There is nothing wrong with the rad, so don't return it :D
