Hi boys and girls, I hope you can help me. I'm in the market for a gaming PC and I'm not very clued up any more. I've read the forums as much as I can and I'm probably more confused than when I started. My budget is around £750, and it must be a pre-built system. I've read many posts saying that you can build your own fairly easily but I would rather not and relax in the safety of a two year warranty.

I've looked at the Titan Dominator:
AMD FX-8350 8 Core CPU Overclocked to 4.4GHz,
AMD 990FX Motherboard,
8GB DDR3 1600MHz C11,
Super Flower 550W PSU,
AMD Radeon R9 270X 4096MB,
7.1 HD Audio, DVD-RW
Windows 7
Bitfenix Shinobi Tower
Seagate Barracuda 1GB HD
£824.87

And the Defender X6:
AMD FX-8350 8 Core CPU Overclocked to 4.2GHz,
AMD 760G Motherboard,
8GB DDR3 1600MHz C9,
Super Flower 550W PSU,
AMD Radeon R9 270X 4096MB,
7.1 HD Audio, DVD-RW
Windows 7
Seagate Barracuda 1GB HD
£735.98

Is the difference between the two systems really worth the £90? Or is it worth finding a few more quid and improving the Defender? I'm OK for a keyboard, mouse and controller.

I also have £110 worth of vouchers to spend at a well known high street computer superstore to go towards a monitor, any recommendations there?

I appreciate there's a lot of questions, but I would be very grateful for your help.

Welcome, :)

I think the Defender Spec's are pretty 'naff. No offense to OCUK but that 760G motherboard isn't really suitable for those chips. The 270X 4GB is a little pointless too. The 280(x) 3GB would be better.

I think you should be looking at intel on that budget. The i5 (especially the DC one) is a much better gaming chip.

This is what you can get:

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Titan Bayonet" Intel Core i5 4690 @ 3.9GHz Turbo AMD Radeon Gaming PC £259.00
- 1 x Standard Build Systems - Dispatched within 7 working days £0.00
- 1 x 24 MONTH WARRANTY - COLLECT & RETURN £0.01
- 1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02733) £73.99
- 1 x BitFenix Merc Alpha Gaming Case - Black £32.99
- 1 x Intel Core i5-4690 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £161.99
- 1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £42.98
- 1 x No Second Hard Drive Option (ZERO Cost) £0.00
- 1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 280 Dual-X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £199.99
- 1 x No Sound Card Upgrade £0.00
Total : £785.95 (includes shipping : £12.50).

That build isn't set up for CPU overclocking (due to the locked CPU) but it can be swapped out for a 4670k if you wish to OC. :)

If you have narrowed your search down to those choices then the Dominator would be the better choice as it has a much more capable motherboard plus a higher CPU clock speed.

Doomedspeed is correct though you would be better with a 280(x) card over the 270 4096 card

Hope this helps
