Hi All,

I need to replace my Deflection Pulley on my E90 320d (Parts 5,6,7; http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=VC32-EUR-05-2005-E90-BMW-320d&diagId=11_3662 )

I'm wanting to do this myself but I'm in need of some tools and some advice.

Reading around, the tensioner pulley (http://i.imgur.com/R7Phv9v.jpg) has the thin tube/pole(thing) which keeps the spring coiled inside and should only be removed when that unit has been placed inside the engine bay. Am I going to have a problem when removing that when I need to put the belt back on? I don't want it to spring open.

Cheers

This is the actual engine bay.

The green bit is the bit where the deflection pulley has snapped. The purple bit is the TX60 socket which I'm guessing I need to undo and the red bit is (i'm guessing) where the pin goes.

Should I need to do anything with the pin or just loosen the TX60 socket slightly.
