To me it looks like a hoax - the features look too large and the baby itself looks too developed for something that lasted 30 minutes.

TBH, I don't think its appropriate to make any comments comparing the pictured baby with Gollum from Lord of the Rings

He said that he is glad his wife is okay, seems a reasonable attitude to me even if he feels no connection with the baby or isn't willing to admit it yet
