Deformed fittings

I ordered them a week ago from overclockers. I've not used them yet as I get the rest of the kit for Christmas but I had a look at 4 of the angled fittings I ordered and two of them are deformed.

This one look like it has been filed at the edge. (not caused by me as its still polished)

This one is thin around the right edge

This is what a normal shape should look like

My question is. Should I send these back? It's not Overclockers fault as it was probably caused at the manufacturer process but I don't want them to fail and leak.

Any ideas? I have already put a post in the customer support section.

Look about right in the inner ring, only look's smaller on the outside to my eyes. If it were me and I ordered 4 and 2 looked different I would sent them back before the DSR 14 day from overclockers expired and just ask for replacements. Not worth the risk, watercooling is expensive.

I only just opened them and had a good look. Like I said. I cannot use them yet as I have no were to put them :( if they 'faulty' then I can send them back, surely?

EDIT:Ordered on the 18th Nov

There's nothing actually wrong with those fittings, other than some 'slight' manufacturing discrepancies.
I'd use them, I've watercooled for over 10 years now and never in that time had any fittings fail on me, ever.

If you want perfection buy Bitspower, otherwise expect the odd discrepancy here and there at the cheaper price points.

Thanks for the reply. The one I was most worried about was the one that looked like it has been filed away. The gap is just so small between the ID and OD. I just don't want it leaking. I will see what OCUK say then and if I cannot get them replaced I will try them and leak test them at Christmas. If it leaks then I will have to buy another one. I did buy 4 but I doubt I will need no more than 2 or 3.

I wouldn't worry tbh the fittings you put on the edge will most likely have a rubber o-ring that will create a seal. So a leak will be highly unlikely anyway.

I had similar manufacturing defects with phobya products and nothing ever happened. Doubt it's worth the hassle replacing them.

The chamfered edge on that fitting will be where the O ring of another fitting will go. Looking at the first pic there is only a tiny bit of flat area for the o ring to compress on where the chamfer is. The o ring may still seal but could also "pop" out over the chamfered edge. I would do a blow test on this before setting up the loop, i.e. put that fitting into a block, and a fitting into that fitting, connect some tubes, put your finger over one ene and blow in the other. You should be able to tell if there is any potential for leaks.
