defrag problem on windows 8.1

Hi

Im not sure if its needed but Im trying to defrag the system reserved section on my laptop.

It says "needs optimisation" "34% fragmented" but when I analyse it and then attempt to optimize it, it scans in seconds but does not do anything and still says it needs optimisation.

can anyone help.

mines does the same, Everyone does.

believe its meant to happen. all 4 machines of mines do

got to be a problem though?

As after the scan it still says it needs optimising.

This appears to be by design with, as far as I can tell, the official line from MS being to leave it alone and not worry about it.

There do seem to be various methods posted to get around it and defrag it if you really want to but it looks like a load of hassle considering the size of it and the data it holds. And even more of a waste of time if it's on SSD anyway, which tbh these days if you're not running one, you probably should be.
