Hey all,

I'm looking for a free Defragger to move files that are accessed most to the faster potion of the hard drive. Is there a decent one that gives a lot of control to where files are placed that someone could recommend ?

P.s I'm not very good with those that require cmd lines :P

Thanks!

I've used some before but had issues.

Never had issues with the Windows defragger - so stick with that IMO

Well, I'm using Auslogics DiskDefrag at the moment which is OK but it won't let arrange my gaming folder to place most used titles at the fast part of the disc (pretty much the functionality windows defrag lacks).

+1 for Defraggler

What I do before a defrag..

Run CCleaner
Move pagefile to another drive temporarally
Disable System Restore and remove old points
Run cleanmgr.exe to tidy up OS files and Windows Update
Manually remove files that aren't needed like dead Nvidia/Ati/Intel folders. There's quite a few scattered about the place
Delete old downloads / crap on desktop
