Defrag

I installed Vista 64 bit and then installed O & O defrag 64 bit edition but when defrag has finished (100%) my hard disc still remains 43% fragmented.

I have tried Ultimate defrag as well but no look there either, still 43% fragmented.

Had exactly the same problem with my version on vista x64, got the latest version and still doesnt work.

I gave up in the end and went for PerfectDisk 8
Works fine with vista x64, not as many options as O&O but it at least it works and actually does defrag the drive

it's probably the system restore section

disable system restore to save yourself some space

If you really want to go for it - remove the drive, put it in another machine as a secondary drive and then virus scan + defrag.

This seems to pick up viruses that would otherwise be missed and seems to give a much better defrag. Other people may disagree or think it's over the top but I've found it to be very good if some major overhauling needs to be done.
