defragging question

hi guys,i was reading badass's windows performance guide and he says about emptying the windows/prefetch folder b4 a defrag.
just wanted to double check i got correct folder.so do i right click 'c',select explore,select show protected files then navigate to windows/prefetch,then delete contents but not folder? could anyone confirm this plz

Frankly, this is advice best ignored if you use Vista. If you use XP go for gold. And don't delete the folder, just the contents.....

Use this if on XP and switch it off or optimise boot files only!

A bloated prefetch folder is the cause of many a slow XP boot issue. The benefits of a bloated prefetch folder are non-existent.

Nothing boots slower than XP with an empty prefetch folder.
