The inbuilt one is a lot more intelligent than you'd think, just stick to using that it does a fine job and its free...

I had wondered if the inbuilt defrag was any good. I have been running Vista for a while and not used anything else so I suppose it works but how can I see what it s doing?

dont know about better but ive been using austlogic disc defrag, certainly faster and its free.

JK Defrag was the best free one by a comparison made a while back. Tiny little app, it does the job very well.
