Dehumidifier - Max £50 - Recommendations?

Personally I think that's too small for helping with clothes drying. I don't think it'll be powerful enough. But I'm not an expert, however I remember having this conversation with some people who said it's better to go slightly larger and more powerful than it is to go the other way.

I mean it will take moisture out of the air but I'm not sure it'll be able to take enough out that it would help and the tank is quite small. Can you stretch your budget at all?

0.3l a day. Lol. Don't waste your money on anything in this budget range. What you've linked to is like buying one of these and expecting to be able to keep your house clean with it.

You need something more like a 10L dehumidifier - expect to be paying £150 for anything worthwhile at this time of year.

Also, there are different types of dehumidifier. At this time of year, a desiccant would be more efficient - as they dry the air by a warming process, so are better for cooler temperatures. A heat pump type dehumidifier will dry the air by condensing - so work better when it's warm.

Ignore anything with a peltier - they're only really useful very minor tasks.

I mean, I will have the heated airer. It's just as a side thing to help with the moisture really. :)

@Bug One - Its for just me so not a large family so to speak. Surely this is better than nothing no?

Budget wise...maybe stretch a bit but basing this on the reviews, this seems ok/something similar hmm.

Honestly, I've got one almost identical that I got before I knew better. It's a waste of money. 0.3l. Not even a can of cokes worth, while running all day? It uses the same tech as those mini fridges. It won't have any effect on moisture in a house.

The one I've linked above is as small as is worth actually using.

It isn't going to run all day. It would be for 4-5 hours at tops and not in a bathroom - maybe not clear in my OP. :)

I think what he meant was it needs to run all day to draw out not even a coke cans full of water, running it for a few hours will only take a shot glass worth of moisture from the air so you may as well not bother. Think about how much moisture is in all the clothes you're going to dry, if you were to squeeze it all out it could be several litres i'd think, so if you're going to bother getting something you need a device capable of extracting that much water from the air.

For that tiny thing you linked to do anything, it would have to run 24/7. I only mentioned all day, because that's how dehumidifiers are typically measured.

I know you're hoping for a different answer, but what you've linked to won't do the job you're hoping. Ignore all the bump and fancy pictures, and just look at the actual figures they state.

Ah ok. :(

Hmm, yeah I thought this would be 'better than nothing' and based it on reviews.

Ok, thank you. :)
