I was going to get a 1.6 ghz vostro with 8600gt, buy now Ive found I can get an xps m1530 for not a great deal more, but only with 1.5Ghz for my budget.

The xps, though, has ddr3 on 8600gt so Im figuring with games (like Oblivion) ther'es no real difference

Am i right?
Thanks

I am curious about these too, not so much the slower processor as i would be looking to get 2gig minimum really with 2gig ram. But what noticable differences are tehre between xps and the vostro?

Was so close to ordering my vostro when this xps addy came on the site and i clicked it and realised that the price was not far off but had a slower processor before upgrades, whats the deal with xps?

The main difference is it looks really nice and is light. Also it has an hdmi port and gddr3 memory on the graphics card, and a slot loading optical drive. Was going to get one but it was £200 more than more than my other choice - a Toshiba Satellite a210-11p which has similar-ish specs and was next day delivery and only £600. - and arrived today.

Looking at well after Xmas for XPS. I was looking at the Vostro and Inspiron too but after the experience on the phone with the Dell customer service it was all just too americansed with too many people trying to sell me things I didnt want, and by the end of it I just didnt want to give them my money especially for something I hadn't seen.

Do a google search and you'll find some reviews which have just come out on the xps
