Delay in postage?

Just a quick question before I order some things from OCUK. With the exception of full builds, could someone please tell me how long on average they take to post out items? Only reason I ask is because I'm in need of another SSD; if it's going to take 5 days+, I'll get one from a local shop.

They appear to be struggling at present. I've been waiting for 10 days for stock items to be dispatched. Much as it pains me to say it you'll get speedier service elsewhere at present.

That's ridiculous, I might have to cancel my order if it's taking that long.

Just take into consideration they don't appear to be alone on this front, so be wary that online alternatives may also result in long dispatch times.

Everything else i've ordered in the last couple of weeks has arrived in 24-48 hours. Even stuff from the channel islands.

Lets put it this way I'd probably give your local shop a visit if I were you
 
I ordered something from the rainforest and today it was "delivered", except it wasn't - got someone elses package instead not even a valid address so can't even shove it through his letterbox. The best they could do was give me full refund but yeah, its a bit wild west out there at the moment finding a courier you can rely on... good luck with that.
 
Hmmmmm, yes there appears to be issues. Just looked on their FB page and they are being ripped to pieces.

Since nobody from OCUK is replying to my thread or phone calls does anyone know what the collection process is as i'm tempted to just drive over on Friday?

I don't think you'll be collecting.

Our retail outlet has been closed since February and will not re-open until Covid-19 is gone, we are taking no chances, so no retail store and no external visitors are not welcome presently until Covid is gone and the population has a vaccine.
 
They are doing click & collect according to my order e-mail, but it's brought out to you.

So they are.

Contactless Click and Collect
  • Order online and select Collect from our shop.
  • You will receive an email with instructions when your order is ready to collect.
  • Please ensure you have received this email before arriving at our premises.
  • Simply follow the instructions provided, stay in your vehicle and a colleague will bring your order, ensuring that social distancing rules are adhered to.
  • Collections available Monday to Friday: 09:00 - 17:00, Saturday: 10:00 - 16:00

I wonder if they can get orders ready quicker for click and collect than they can for delivery?

Hope so, they have now replied & are going to mark it click & collect for me. I'd be more patient but it sounds like the bearings in my CPU cooler are on their last legs and i'm not sure it'll last 10 days :(

Buy a fan and just replace the fan.

Or take a fan off the case and strap it to the heatsink.
 
Such a shame OCUK just isn't what it used to be.

End of November was the first time I've used them in five years, as generally not upgraded or needed PC components since then, didn't even think to check reviews or anything for them, just ordered and it took well over a week to get the products shipped, not the best but give them the benefit of the doubt of COVID I guess, might not need anything for another 5 years hopefully.

My view is, they used to offer great service, good product choice, and competitive prices.
Now they're amongst the most expensive, poor service and lesser product choice.
