Delay in shutting down...

Hello all,

So, basically, I reformatted my computer last night as frankly it was a bit of a mess and everythings fine today except one thing... there is a pretty sizable delay in shutting down the computer.

From the time I click shutdown or restart in the start menu, it can be up to 2 minutes before it does it actually does it. Usually it's pretty much instant, even after hours of gaming.

It was restarting quickly until I got all my essential software back on the PC (MSN, Xfire, Steam, few games, Firefox, anti-virus (AVG free), all my drivers).

Any ideas at all?

Cheers.

Which OS?

If Vista, try here

Nope, it's XP.

I reformatted again last night to see if it was some kind of dodgy windows problem after reformatting and it restarted as normal right up until I downloaded a few games off Steam overnight.

Now it's back to doing what it was doing. Confused?!
