At the moment, I find that I am not buying games at launch (with a few exceptions) and seem to find this is rather beneficial.

A. When I do buy a game, I get them cheaper in a sale or something similar.
B. When I do buy them, they come with all the dlc's and have had a lot of bug fixes applied to them already.

Thanks too the steam sales, I have a bunch of older games I bought for cheap which I'm playing, like Borderlands (bought for £4) (which is awsome)

Anyone else the same?

Upside - wait a year, buy GOTY version of game for under £10.
Downside - no one to talk about it with, as friends have all jumped onto the latest 'big game'.

The only game i preordered recently was Dishonored, and that was only after waiting for reviews to drop on Monday. Otherwise, i'm waiting for the steam xmas sales.

(Memories of being burned by a Splinter Cell: conviction preorder haunt me still...)

Dishonored I will buy, but not at the mo, got a few games to get through first. Also own GW2 and Diablo 3 which I havent got in to yet as have a bit of a back log due to steam sales.

It just seems to make more sense to wait a few months to buy a game. Better price, dlc included, bug fixes applied.

It's different with online shooters or mmo's, but single player games I think this is the way to go.
