I have a 4GB Kingston Data Traveler with a 3.5GB hidden partition. Unfortuanetly, I've deleted the software that allows access to this partition.

Any quick ways of deleting this partition as it does not appear in Windows XP or 7?

Any Linux Live CD should do it. But its always worth, in particular, having the Partition Magic Live CD in your software toolkit.

As regards secure data I would always recommend Truecrypt there are linux and Windows installable and portable version available. I carry all my pendrive data using it so I can access it everywhere I can boot into linux and everywhere that I have windows administrator privileges.

Cheers,
vfm

partition-tool does not seem to see any usb drive.
The live cd is unable to see the hidden partition, but i'm no linux expert

What I would do is to delete that partition and see what happens. I am v.surprised that Gparted can't see that other partition.

Have you checked to see if Kingston have any free software tools on their site for pendrive management?

DTencryptor.exe available on the Kingston website was what I was looking for. Allowed me to delete the hidden partition.

Thanks
