What is the most idiot-proof method of doing this?

Any images wider than 1280 pixels wide should be resized or placed in spoiler tags as ive done this time. setter.

So I hammered out the bottom with an Sds drill I borrowed from work, then used a £20 angle grinder to cut the metal bits inside. Those sparks sting quite a bit eh.
