Hi all

Anyone else have this issue?

I have it now on my S8, but I believe I had similar on the S6 also and gave up in the end and used K9 mail which I think solved the issue... Can't remember for sure as it has been a while as I had an iPhone in between for a few months

Anyway, you get a new mail... delete it... then within a few minutes it comes back... it seems it maybe does a pull from the server for mails before it pushes the 'delete' request to the server? So the phone pulls down the mail again.

Really frustrating

This is with Outlook.com email address using the Gmail app.

I may give up again and just try another app, but I like the gmail app so would like to continue using if possible

Any thoughts please?

Tried it... comes up with a sync error and a message to use the outlook app

I'll give that a go... makes sense really considering I only use the gmail app for the outlook account anyway (use Google 'Inbox' for my gmail accounts)

Hopefully the outlook app works correctly :)

I use the samsung one and sync from 6 different inboxes, never had a problem there. I've disabled gmail app.

I think I'm too used to the Inbox 'reminders' and snoozing of emails to move away from it.

But how do you disable apps? I tried to uninstall Gmail earlier as I now have no use for it, but there is no uninstall option

What Inbox reminders do u talk about and snoozing e-mails? Think u can do that on samsung one now - u can also delete from notification bar which is handy.

Just hold on "GMAIL" in apps and press disable.

With reminders I mean using the google app called 'Inbox', you can go in there and instead of creating an email, you can create a simple 'reminder' such as 'Get fuel' or whatever and snooze it until 'tomorrow morning', or 'next week' or a specific time/date etc.

The snooze thing explained above also works for emails. Say you get an email saying to take a meter reading, and you're at work, you can hit snooze so it somewhat comes back as a new email again at your desired time (when you'd be home)

Ah yes got the disable sorted, thanks

Oh ok I just use calendar for reminders, I have full calendar on swipe to right to quickly add things. I think there are egg apps for this sort of stuff as well which seem handy too but I never use them. E-mails u can just swipe to the side and they stay as 'unread' so u can see later. I'm sure there are plenty of workarounds that I don't know about yet :).

I do a lot of things through apps - like the meter reading, on British Gas their app is very good.

I might take a look at the Samsung mail app then if it's decent

I suppose I can easily enough get used to going to calendar for reminders instead of Inbox, it's just habit lol

Just noticed that Samsung e-mail has snooze option as well but you have to go into e-mail to use it (press options when viewing e-mail). There is pretty good Samsung reminders app as well which works with both times and location (ie remind when you get home etc) and has edge panel as well.

I might check that out! Get more use out of the edge instead of it just looking pretty haha :D

Hmm just had a look and there's a new Outlook option when adding accounts with Gmail, I assumed you tried that?

Here's my server settings via the Exchange option:
