You get 7/16 ID tubing with the kits, hose clamps are not required with 7/16 & 1/2 barbs.

You may need to warm the tubing up before fitting though.
 
Get the hot tap running and stick the end of the tubing over for 30 seconds or so, should fit over the barb easier.

The fitting is that tight that when it comes to removing the tubing you'll probably find it easier to break out a pair of scissors and a knife :p
