can be case switch not connected right, PSU not connected right, or dead. Do you have a case speaker connected, and does it beeps?

- You can try jump start the PSU to see if it works (google for paperclip trick PSU).

- You can try jump start (with a screwdriver) the core components outside the case (motherboard / cpu / ram / psu), connected to a monitor using the onboard graphics.

- Then add the graphics card, and various bits.

To reset CMOS, check the manual.

Will overclockers replace the parts if it's dead? He literally spent all his money on it and we haven't broke anything ourselfs.

Sometimes stuff is DOA bud. Yes if it's faulty it will be replaced, the catch is if you sent something back and it's actually fine you get charged for them testing it and get the kit back. So it's important to try and figure out what's what before RMA.....welcome to troubleshooting hell. If something happens to be duff hopefully we will find the root of the problem and can direct you to OCuk customer services.

Olivier has covered the best places to start. Assuming you have the 24 pin power and the P4/8 aux power connected and seated the components correctly you should be good to go.

A CMOS reset is basically resetting the mobo. Easiest way is to power off the PSU with it's switch and pop out the round battery on the mobo for a min before replacing it....done.

The basic PSU test involves using a paper clip to bridge the green and black wires in the 24 pin block (do this with power off of course). Once bridged the PSU will power on and off from it's switch on the back. If it doesn't power up doing this it's DOA. It's good practice to hook up a fan or optical drive so it has something drawing a load, especially if you fancy testing the voltages with a multimeter.

By jump starting olivier meant using a small flathead screwdriver to bridge the PWR pins on the mobo headers for the chassis cable. You just touch the screwdriver very briefly against the pins and it will power up (some mobos have a power button on the mobo).

Plenty to get you started, hope you get it up and running soon :)
