NPD is a market research company that track sales figure.
The games figures we see from NPD are for North America only and they are compiled by estimating sales figures from the leading retailers in the US like Wal-mart etc.

I dont know why people argue which one is better, I mean cumon its only a console at the end of the day and they both do their job very well. I like them both but only went for a 360 because of it being cheaper, simple as.

As long as more than 1 console manufactuer is about, the constant fanboy remarks will never end.

Unfortunately it's just something that you have to put up with, at least it's not too bad on here. Other forums (especially ones on Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo sites and game review sites are much worse).

Also it's better than just having one console being around
