Somebody's already managed a proof of concept using an ionising tower.

Plug "ionic PC cooling" into Google and have a look...

This is a similar principe but on a different scale altogether.

The ion cooled PC was expensive if I remember correctly. But then things get cheaper - look at flash memory.

If it works it could mean that in a few years time water cooling could be on the way out.

It looks intersting and I'm sure if the cost can be brought down to a reasonable level we'll see it around in 5-10 years.

The principal could also be used on WC radiators ... after all the principal is the same as air cooling ie move air past fins to cool it.

Or water cooling just uses the technology to usalise the RAD better...
