I tend to use Isoclene (Isopropanol) for most stuff, gets rid of the sticky residue from hot glue guns, which I guess is the same principle for a cheap 3D drawing pen...

I guess you could try it on a single one, see if it has any impact and go from there?

mustard, buy a catering pack of Coleman's and soak it in that for 2 days. Don't use Dijon seeded because the seeds will gunk up the joins.

Another vote for Isopropanol. Was the first thing that came to mind and I always have a big bottle about the house because it is just so useful for lots of things. Just used it the other day to clean a sticking Xbox controller button (water would have worked for this too but Isopropanol evaporates more quickly)

Some great tips although not sure I understand the mustard one :p

IPA is one of those things I really should have in my garage arsnal and never got round to getting hold off. Do any local places (garage forecourts or chemist) sell that sort of thing in 2.5 or 5L quanties or is it something you usually have to get by mail order?

I got mine from the local pharmacy, could try there I guess (your local that is not mine! :p)

eBay, can normally pick up a few L for not much money. It's not something that is easy to get in decent quantities on the high street, some chemists will sell you a little bottle.

Put it all inside a pillowcase, tie it up (well!) and put it in the washing machine. Job's a gud un.

My mum's school used to buy / get donated a lot of lego from parents, and they used to clean it like this for their after-school club. Nothing like a biological detergent.
