From what I understand,

You turn up to check in with your Passport.

They work out who you are from name, then issue you with boarding pass, and take your bags.

You go to departure lounge with your boarding pass and passport.

Yep as long as you go to the correct check-in desk for your flight/airline they will be expecting you ;)

It helps if you have the booking reference which may have been emailed to you.

Yep, you've got it. They will use your passport as ID to issue the ticket at the time of checkin. Might be a good idea to make sure you take the credit card with you that you booked the tickets with. Some airlines insist that you show it when you check in, but that might just be for domestic flights where you would not normally take you passort.

Don't worry about it all. The check in desk staff will point you in the right direction. Just give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport and checkin. Better to be relaxing in the airport bar, than rushing to make a flight. \

Enjoy your hols.

Cheers pete
