Turn it into a picture viewer you can hang on your wall like a framed photo by using it to run an external LCD screen.

Anyone got any ideas what I could do with an old laptop, that:

* Has a broken screen (have to use its monitor out port)
* Doesnt hold charge
* Doesnt have network card
* About 500mhz, 8gb hard disk.

I cant think of anything, but surley it could serve some use?

You can get PCMCIA network cards for less than a tenner or buy a USB network card as they are pretty cheap(I don't know what Linux support is like for USB). I would probably turn it into a server, I used to use my old laptop as a server for me and my flatmates as it was near silent and could be left on permanantly.
