Take them definately.

Comparable to technics, at that price you cant go wrong. Strong torquey motors, reliable, hold their pitch.. dont skip..

solid decks mate.

and before people come here and start harping on about 1210s being better...

WE KNOW..

So stick to vestax talk to help the kid :D

Hmm. I've used these a fair bit for scratch djing. For that money I'd buy them, for £70 more I could pick up an old pair of sl's, so thats what I'd do. But yes. Just give them a good run.. hit play with the pitch adjustments rammed up, then wind the platter (the actual platter) backwards really quickly for 5-6 seconds a bunch of times, if they start to switch from playing forwards and backwards randomly walk away ( a problem with the first generation). Otherwise should be OK. The most shocking thing about them for me was taking them apart. They're bare bones inside (and no not in a positive audiophile sense!), just a badly cut out circuit board with poorly soldered connections. And all of the weight of the unit sits about half an inch under the platter, the rest is plastic. For me that's a bad thing. I like a nice solid unit.

I've done my bit for technics there lol.
I reckon I would definitely buy them at that price though. Certainly beats buying a set of citronics.

Bargain at that price.

Depends whether you want the classic style and reliablity of 1200/1210's.

You could always punt them on for the same or more if 1210's are what you're after.

Lets not go overboard :p .

I never had any bother with mine in the few years i had em. they werent in the marketplace long enough to get judged aside techs for reliability, but they certainly aint bad.

Techs have been standard for 20+ years. No denying their reliability.

Thanks for bringing that up, but I dont have the option to test them as Im buying them online :o

Ahh, well sod it anyway dude, for £250 you might as well chance it (so long as seller can assure you and has good feedback etc).

Actually lol, as an ironic twist, one of my 1210 mk5 g's stopped working last night, checked fuse etc but no joy. It's going to my local panasonic place on Monday.. First time in years I've had a problem with technics, and these have spun for at least 2 hours every single day (once left one spinning for 4 days by accident).

Just found out there are Mk1 and its put me off a little bit to be honest. Do you think it would be worth while saving up a few hundred more and getting the pdx2300 pro mk2?

Personally with that kind of money I wouldn't buy anything apart from technics. But yes, the mk2 are better than the mk1
