sorry to thread hijack, but on the same theme..
does anyone know of any software / system that allows caller ID to identify an incoming call and bring up the records of that number on a computer screen before you answer the phone ???
especially if one could send a certain call off to a pre recorded answerphone message once we had looked at the database record for that person..

i used to use http://freehelpdesk.org/ with some reports writting in access.
Very simple and as its PHP its easy to customise.

That would be very cool if someone new of such a thing.
Would be much better if they had an open API that you could integrate into VB too
loads of commercial software does it, never found particually usefull unless you are dealing with a hooooge non-comercial customer base. Most software just says its TAPI compatabile in my experiance if it does this (we tried it with SalesLogix CRM once)
