I found winamp's auto tagger (it uses gracenote) is very good for retrieving the tag info of the album the song came from (I like my songs tagged by the album it was originally from so if it comes from a NOW20 album it will tag it to this and not from the original album) that's when I use mp3tag to mass correct these occurances so all my mp3's are 100% accurate.

So if you have winamp......load all those tracks into winamp>select them all>right click>send to>auto tag

this will then bulk query gracenote and after it has retrieved the tags just confirm if they are correct before applying.

I think I used mp3tag's tagging solution once and was not impressed so I just stick to what I found works best.

Auto number them before I tag?

Tried it and still messes up all the tags!

My only way of doing it is, is letting it rename all the files 1-60 (leave them all in 1 dir), then move them into their correct folders and re-number them manualy.

don't rename the files until all the tags are correct.

first off the files need to loaded into mp3tag in the right order. now tag them with the info from amazon. at this point the tracknumbers are wrong so NOW you run the autonumbering wizard. then finally, rename/move the files based on the tags.
