Are the X1950 drivers officially supported in Windows 7? I was having similar troubles with an X850 crashing in Windows 7 running various games. Black screen and Audio continuing, Sometimes i got a wierd stripes too. It was because the card wasnt officially supported, and the vista drivers that were offered caused problems, Which sucked.

I got the problem with most games though, not just one specific game. I take it you've gamed with more than just Bioshock 2?

All ATi say is that all of the DirectX 9 cards aren't officially supported under Windows 7 :(

I installed Catalyst Version 9.9 when I installed Windows 7 and I haven't updated myself since but Windows Update has updated once since then. My version number in Device Manager is shown as 8.632.1.2000 with a date of 17/08/2009

I have win7 64 with a 4870 the games worked fine for me so far. although the bioshock and steam forums are full of similar issues to yours there have been a few patchs released I think. tried downloading these?

Windows Vista 64 and a 4890 running at stock. It occasionally crashes, but nothing too annoying.

Edit - just started the fourth chapter. I stand corrected. :/
