Are you going to be overclocking the quad? if you are then you would wana get pc8500 1066Mhz kit for easier overclocking past 3.5-3.6Ghz but if not PC-6400 800Mhz kits are fine as you want to keep your costs down. also you could sell the crucial 2gb kit and buy your self a pair of OCZ reapers 4gb pc-6400 or pc-8500 kit and that would be fine with non-intensive graphic software. No point in 6GB if your only gaming.

Also using 2 (2x2GB) modules rather than 4 (4x1GB) will put less stress on the mobo. You may find the north bridge needs a bit more voltage to get them running stable if you are overclocking.
 
haha no worries! Personally I found negligible difference going for faster ram. So I would say go for upping the amount. Plus it could prove cheaper.
