Demons Souls will destroy you if you just mash buttons, but that's what so good about it. Like Ninja Gaiden you find yourself getting better over time as you learn the fighting skills needed to progress.
 
Borderlands is one of my all time Fav games and i'd say it comes under this category apart from this isnt as mythical using magic, But it definately worth looking at and dont let the outlining on the characters and background put you off as they do make the game look somewhat childish.

Yeah definitely. Borderlands is a first person rpg, but the shooting mechanics are so good it blurs the line between actually being classed as a fps or an rpg. Good call though, I would recommend Borderlands to anyone. I picked up the Goty version off Zavvi a while back for about 12 quid. 100's of hours of gameplay to be had too as you can reply the game a couple of times with different stats and characters plus all the dlc packs when you buy the Goty Edition.
