Basically I got assulted on my own doorstep and robbed (in broad daylight, 1pm) on New Year eve and unfortunately my xbox was stolen, nice end to the year .

My question is, if I buy a new one can I simply reclaim my gamertag on the new xbox and it will switch it from the stolen one to the new one?

My other question is I have paid for SkyGO on my xbox and it only allows it to be activated on two devices (ipod, xbox etc). If I sign in on the new Xbox will this count as a second device and if so will I need to ring Microsoft to get it sorted?

yes, your gamertag can be reclaimed, you're best of passwording it too as it will be available on the other xbox. Make sure your security is tight.

For SkyGo, y ou should have a skygo account. You can log into it and manager your devices. So you can remove it from your old xbox and then, when the app is downloaded on the new one, should automatically register it's self.

I got my new Xbox last night and I think I've managed to sort everything out now. I'm hoping that by changing all my login details etc my xbox live account will lock out the other Xbox until they enter a new password.

Managed to sort skygo out, turned out to be quite a simple process to remove/add devices.

It allowed me to take all the permissions for games etc bought on the marketplace which I didn't realise it would, excellent.

Whoa, just read my reply earlier, shocking! No more lunchtime pints for me!

It's worth thinking about enabling Cloud saves too, for your saved games. Handy for those of us with two xboxes.

The skygo site is actuallyalright, once you find the link. I find the manage devices screen a bit of a ballache to get too, but once you're there it's dead easy. Beware that there are a maximum number of changes to your devices per month.

The SkyGo only lets you make 2 changes per month which is stupid and removing devices counts as a change as well. I found out the hard way when I got a new iPhone and Xbox in one month and stupidly added my phone before my xbox so was stuck squinting at my phone for a whole month
